The Embassy of The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Bucharest aims at providing the Romanian people with the latest information about the political, economic and cultural endeavors and achievements in Jordan as well as about the historical, religious and touristic places that made our country famous worldwide. It also aims to be close to the Jordanian citizens in Romania to work together at bridging the relations between Jordanians and Romanians, to contribute to the promotion of the Jordanian values and to encourage mutual investments.

The diplomatic relations between Jordan and Romania were established in April 1965 and by the Spring of 1974, the Embassy of Jordan opened in Bucharest. At present, the Embassy of Jordan is accredited as non-resident diplomatic mission both in Bulgaria and in the Republic of Moldova.

Over the past decades, Jordan and Romania maintained friendly relations and have succeeded in cooperating closely in various domains. Jordan also developed a close partnership with the European Union. Both the relations between Jordan and Romania, and the ones between Jordan and EU reflect the common values shared by Jordanians and Europeans with respect to democracy, pluralism and tolerance, in addition to joint efforts in combating extremism and terrorism, promoting inter-cultural dialogue and mutual coexistence among people of different faiths, and in developing economic cooperation.

For the EU, Jordan is a modernizing force for peace in the Middle East and a positive example to its neighbours. Guided by the vision and determination of His Majesty King Abdullah II, Jordan has embarked on a daring reform program focused on political, social and economic rapid progress. This new approach has been widely appreciated by the EU, which granted Jordan the "advanced status" position in its partnership in October 2010.

We hope to open a new window of our bilateral relations and to have a better future for the generations to come based on justice, dignity and prosperity. We welcome you again in our website and please do not hesitate to contact us.

H.E. Mr. Saker Malkawi, Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Jordan to Romania
